The past simple vs. the past continuous using when and while We often use the past continuous with the past simple. We use the past continuous to talk about an action in progress, and the past simple to talk about an action that interrupts it.
Example: - We were walking in the park when it started to rain. - When the teacher asked me a question, I wasn't listening. |
